Second Harvest Food Bank Key Facts |
Second Harvest and their food pantries accept non-perishable items as well as monetary donations, but a monetary donation of $1.00 is recognized as 9 pounds of food. The advantage is that pantries receive food from Second Harvest for a $.16 per pound maintenance fee and at times a delivery fee of $30.00. Some of the items a pantry needs may not be available from Second Harvest, so they need to buy them, but can buy cheaper than we can. When you make a donation, please remember how we can best serve our pantries.
The increase is due to a switch primarily from food to monetary donations. I want to thank everyone for supporting Care & Share again this year and ask that you help me promote the advantage of making a monetary donation. PDG Larry E. Snyder Care & Share Chairperson 610-769-2410 |
